Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

At Urban Group we process your personal data transparently and only for the purposes we tell you about. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights.

1.Data controller

Urban Group, operating in the Dominican Republic, is the controller of the data collected through this portal.

Privacy contact: info@urbangroup.do — +1 809 566 3672.

2.Legal framework

We apply Dominican Republic Law No. 172-13 on the Comprehensive Protection of Personal Data.

If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we also honour your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If you live in the United States, we honour the rights granted by your state's law, including California's CCPA and CPRA and the equivalent laws of other states; the specific sections are further below.

3.Data we collect

Data you provide: name, email address, phone number, preferred language, the property or service you are interested in and the message you write in our forms (contact, property listing, selling your property, financing request or advisor application).

Private-area data: if you are an Urban Friends member or part of the team, we process your profile data (name, company, phone, photo) and the record of your activity on the platform.

Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and visit-source parameters (UTM), plus the preferences stored in your own browser (currency, favourites and cookie decision).

We do not request sensitive data. Please do not include health information, detailed financial data or identity documents in free-text message fields.

4.Why we use your data

To handle your request and put you in touch with the relevant advisor (basis: pre-contractual relationship and your consent).

To send you information about the properties or services you enquired about and to follow up commercially (basis: consent and legitimate interest).

To manage access to the private areas, prevent fraud, abuse and bulk data extraction, and comply with legal obligations (basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation).

To measure use of the portal in aggregate in order to improve it (basis: consent, where applicable).

5.Who we share your data with

With our advisors and authorised staff, solely to handle your request.

With providers acting on our behalf: the CRM and commercial messaging platform, the database and storage provider, the site hosting provider, the email delivery service and the process automation tools.

With authorities, where there is a valid legal requirement.

We do not sell your personal data, nor do we transfer it to third parties for their own advertising.

6.International transfers

Some of our providers are located outside the Dominican Republic, mainly in the United States and the European Union. In those cases we require contractual confidentiality and security commitments equivalent to those described here.

7.How long we keep your data

Contact requests are kept while there is active commercial follow-up and for up to 24 months after the last contact.

Private-area account data is kept while the account is active and for up to 12 months after it is closed.

Technical and audit logs are kept for up to 24 months. Once these periods expire, data is deleted or anonymised, unless there is a legal obligation to keep it.

8.Your rights

You may request access to your data, its rectification or deletion, the restriction of or objection to its processing, the portability of the information you provided, and the withdrawal of your consent at any time.

To exercise them, write to info@urbangroup.do stating your request. We will respond within a maximum of 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the competent data protection authority.

9.California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (properties viewed and requests submitted), internet activity (pages visited, visit source) and approximate geolocation derived from the IP address. We collect them from you and from your browsing, and use them for the purposes described above.

We do NOT sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including for anyone under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics.

You have the right to know what information we hold and where it came from, to request a copy, to correct it, to request its deletion, to limit the use of sensitive information and not to be treated in a discriminatory way for exercising these rights. You may exercise them by writing to info@urbangroup.do or through an authorised agent who evidences their authority.

We honour your browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out request: when we detect it, optional measurement and third-party technologies stay off. You can also manage this at any time through the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer.

10.Residents of other U.S. states

If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law (for example Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon or Montana), you have the right to confirm processing and access your data, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy and opt out of its use for targeted advertising, sale or automated decisions with significant effects.

We do not carry out profiling with legal effects on you, nor automated decisions without human involvement. If we deny a request, you may ask for a review by replying to the same email with the subject "Privacy appeal"; we will resolve it within a maximum of 45 days.

11.Marketing communications, email and SMS

When you submit a form you authorise us to contact you by phone, WhatsApp or email to handle that specific request. Receiving promotional communications on top of that is optional and requested separately, with no pre-ticked boxes.

Every promotional email identifies Urban Group as the sender, does not use deceptive subject lines and includes an unsubscribe link that we action immediately (in line with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act). In text or WhatsApp messages you can reply STOP to stop receiving them. We do not use automatic dialling systems to send advertising without your prior express consent.

12.Security

We encrypt communications (HTTPS), restrict internal access by roles and permissions, require reinforced authentication for staff, audit sensitive actions and apply usage limits to prevent bulk data extraction.

No system is infallible; should an incident affect your data, we will act in accordance with applicable regulations.

13.Minors

The portal is not aimed at people under 18 and we do not intentionally collect their data. If we find that we have received a minor's data, we will delete it.

14.Cookies

The use of cookies and similar technologies is described in detail in our Cookie Policy.

15.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date. If the change is substantial, we will communicate it through the available channels.
